My first film was a collection of footage that I edited of my elder brothers life. I made it to follow my Best Man speech at his wedding. I never had any ambition to make films then but with the amount of footage my parents had taken it seemed a shame not to make something of it. I got the bug and from there the rest was a natural progression. I've made over 20 personal films including Stag weekends and such. Though 'Are you playing nicely' is my first short film. It stars my mate Don and his lovely kids. The music for the film, which I think is incredible was done by my friend Nikolaj Torp.

Wow what a great film x Very funny and clever. I know the children will really enjoy the humour with the hamster! They always say never work with children or animals and you did both,so well done to you.You say your film was based on a true story from your youth, you must have been a very funny child!A great film that I know I will watch again and again x Kate x

Really enjoyed the short film,would like to have to registared a rating. I would say without doubt that all age groups would enjoy the humour.

What a quirky fab film! Loved it and so will children too...really appeals to all ages. I have heard lots of rumours about this timidflicks guy....I hear he's expected to go far.... We'll be able to say we saw his early work.......

AS we know the the children in this film we think its FAB!!!!! but without being biased, we still think it was a great short film and will appeal to all ages, but maybe not hamster lovers!!!!!!! wellDone to all involved!!!!!

Pretty good, Very funny. Liked the face look of the pet and the special effects of what he did to the boy, the girls face when screaming was good. I look forward to your next production. KAY.

This film really cheered me up - the part when the hamster gets thrown and sticks on the door is hilarious. My kids loved it when the hamster smiles. A great film.

this is such a funny film, at first i didnt quit get it and got a bit confused but nearer the end it became clear, ur life must be full of surprises im actualy surprised that it is a true story.
Its quit believe able we all have those family troubles espesialy with sisters or brothers i have a brother and he is so annoying! I feel for you! lol

it is cleverly put together and full of humar and fun for any age limit!
this is definatley goin in my favourites, and i will definately recomend it to my friends and people i know!

I thought this was great. The comic timing was spot on. It really moved - editing vey crisp. Everything was nicely set up and paid off. Man, I think this is a winner. Great sense of fun! How´d you do the animation? Photoshop?

Thanks for the comment, it means a lot. To answer your question, it was Photoshop I used to create the stills for the animation. I then used Motion to create the movement.

Hi Timid. Photoshop! I´ve got that but haven´t really gotten into it, yet. Is Motion an Adobe application?

I emailed the Virgin team to ask if they could explain how my film got over 7000 hits in one day, anxious that I would be labeled a cheat. Below is their response.

Good for you for getting the hits. I don´t doubt they´re genuine. My film Doodlebug was also featured, and that helps the hit rate. I´ve also been accused of leaving positive feedback on my own films. What can you do?
