About Graham Rathlin

118
Graham Rathlin is from Belfast but has lived in the East End of London for over twenty years. He was on his way to Los Angeles to seek fame and fortune but stopped off on the Isle of Dogs and found he just couldn't leave. In the years that followed Graham fell in love with the place and began to fit right in. "Cor blimey, the people are so warm and friendly. Everyone leaves their front doors wide open and, if it all comes on top there's always someone willing to make you a nice cup of jessop. I'll bet it's not like that in L.A." Graham was a practising alcoholic for many years then one day decided to give up drinking and make films instead. Graham says: "I found this old super-8 camera in the occupational therapy room and the rest is history. I took to it like a duck to water. I've never looked back. I've never won any awards and I certainly don't intend to start now, so ye can stuff yer fancy prizes where the sun don't shine. I just want to make films." Graham is still receiving counselling on an out-patient basis.

I still can't believe this cost me 2 million quid to shoot. Where did the money go?

Unlike assholes, genuine critics usually have something constructive to say.

simplicity is bliss. i have an inherent hatred to people who try to tackle global-warming-iraq-terrorism-political subjects in three minutes. you took a really simple idea and its still very poigniant. thumbs up from me.

You've successfully done in 2 minutes what Roald Dahl's "Tales of the Unexpected" would drag out over 30 mins and consequently ruin it in the process ... congratulations!

Sure - but this was originally 120 minutes long and I cut out all the car chases and helicopter shots as well as the underwater camera work, as I felt they were unnecessary to the plotline.

    hahah that last comment!!!

well mate don't take any notice to what that 'the critic' cock said.. this is a really good idea, and very well executed.

I think though that it does lack a score to drive it/bring it all together.. with a little bit of music, and I mean a little, nothing dominating, in my opinion it would be AMAZING.

    but well done though!!

Lind looks like your worst critic. i thought it was quite a clever piece, but seen quite a few on here that tackle the kind of story you did. not saying thats a bad thing, but not original. all in all very good! well done

Hi Leepy. You said it. It's over your head. Sorry, pal, are you upset because I haven't left a nice comment on any of your films? I've read some of the comments on your stuff - the ones you write yourself under assumed names.

You say you spent 2 million on this film? possibly at 120 minutes it would be a great film and worth it's money, however this short is simply too 'short', the plot line simply lacks. Great footage, I just believe you need to elaborate, or perhaps choose a different approach to cutting the film down to incorporate 'what makes the robber blind'..because at the moment it's not clear enough to even make the message subtle!.Sorry.
