A bizarrelly moving little film. Clunky and simple in its effects, but all disbelief could be suspended as actually I cared that the car and the soldiers wanted to celebrate the mouse. Maybe I should get out more.

Amazed that such a film could be so moving, I was actually upset for the mouse and his family. May 3rd 2008
Little things filmed up close gives it quite a nice intimacy.Editng and filmwork keeps you watching despite daft subject matter.

awesome clip! great scenes! Surprising turns... I've always loved how led soldiers and little cars were great for creating imaginary stories. the scene with the soldiers in a row carrying matches is kinda fuzy, i couldn't distinguish very well.
Thanks for some lovely comments. Apologies for those squiggly annoying lines that appear, I accidentally uploaded a version that wasn't compressed properly. RE: Jamie101. Don't worry Jamie I have a lovely clear version on digi beta that cost me more than the film did to shoot.
I absolutely loved this. Original, funny, strangely moving. You really do deserve to win this. Absolutely amazing

I'm afraid the mouse was actually cremated. Main problem was we forgot to open any windows, we were almost cremated with the little chap. Don't worry folks he died by natural causes, pheww!

Wow! This is the third best funeral film about a mouse I've ever seen. If film makers carry on making films like this I might never act again, keep it up. Anyone want to come down the Old Vic tonight, its looking a little quiet? Sob.
Very crazy, but very original. Some surprisingly epic shots! Have a look at our vid - called "Mr. Alice" (do a search) - and let us know what you think.
It was pretty lazy film makiing mate. Are you serious or just taking the piss? Cos it seems like the latter to me, geezer.
One out of ten for the effort (getting out of bed).

Thanks for those kind words Leepy. Incidentally 'Leepy' is the director of the self-proclaimed 'best fifty quid monster movie you'll see'. Hmmm so let me see…. rude, arrogant and possibly slightly bitter, nice one.
I'm all for criticism but I'm not too sure about the personal angle. "One out of ten for the effort (getting out of bed)", What about walking to my mate’s house and finding a dead mouse? Surely this deserves two out of ten. I'm also a bit wary of anyone who uses the word 'Geezer' but that's a personal issue.
I think we probably live on opposite sides of the coin. I honestly think for reasons I’m not going into that Leepy's film is actually quite poor but it doesn't mean to say I don't respect him for making it.
Forum's are dangerous places for bitching, I think we should all concentrate are efforts on encouraging people and not putting each other down. Good luck to yer Leepy, you obviously have an audience it's just a different one to mine, just accept it. It's O.K. we can both live in the same world. I'm honestly not lazy; I just have a very different approach to yours, if you can’t see that then I’m afraid you need to broaden yer mind a little.

Hey Greg.Well I'll start then as you're reluctant to. I like the music in your film. If the score was added after the edit then I think the composer did a great job. It gives your film its heart. You set up the toy car in the first shot which is good. By accident or design the film has a sepia colour cast which suis the mood.
But there's no story. (And what's there is illogical. Why would someone box the mouse and then leave it on the floor?) Drama is conflict;you know, a protagonist after a goal being countered by the antagonist. And I know some shorts don't have stories, they're more like little visaual poems, moments in time captured. But I think most people want to see a story, a problem solved. Capra said what people want to see is people. So dramatically there's nothing there to engage, to root for. And you don't help the audience suspend their disbelief cos your miniature camera work is wobbly and all over the place. Ok, there my be an audience for post modern films, where the film maker isn't playing by the rules. But I just think it's lazy. That's why I asked, "Are you taking the pee?"
I think the music is head and shoulders over the visuals and editing, which look like they were shot by a child. I really do think alot of viewers think this short was made by somene without pubes.
